Transparent PP (polypropylene) is a common plastic raw material. General PP products is difficult to meet the high transparency requirements.
Mr. Shen of Cixi called Taili Plastic Machinery yesterday and said that he had a batch of transparent PP panels customized by customers. The transparency was not adjusted so well that it can’t pass test after several times. How can I solve the problem?

In order to improve the transparency of ordinary PP materials, many adjusting technicians are not aware of the following special methods:
1. Raw material properties
The transparency by using PP materials with high permeability is higher than that by using general PP materials. The cost is also much higher. The transparency of PP materials is related to the mobility of PP materials. Generally speaking, the higher the fluidity of materials is, the better the transparency of products will be. If the physical properties meet the requirements, nucleators can be added appropriately. Nucleating agents are very helpful for the improvement of transparency, but the proportion of nucleators is particularly high, generally about 0.2% of the quality.
2. Injection temperature
For PP materials with high transparency requirements, the injection temperature is generally set 30-40 ℃ higher than the usual production temperature of PP. Because the general decomposition temperature of PP is relatively high, which can usually reach about 330 ℃, it can improve the injection temperature and effectively increase the role of nucleating agent.
3. Mould
When adjusting the transparency, we will easily ignore the influence of the polishing accuracy of the mold surface. Due to the limitations of processing technology and cost, adding in precision carving and high-speed milling will increase the cos. But without changing other process conditions, it will greatly improve the transparency of the product.
