The mold manufacturer will cheat the customers? Disposable plastic food container manufacturers often encounter the issue that the lid and the container produced don’t match properly. The mold manufacturer comes to debug for several times and ends with a conclusion that it’s the injection molding machine that makes the product wrongly, then leaves the customer alone with the problem unsolved.
Mr. Xu of Zhejiang is one of them. As a green-hand in the injection molding food container industry, he was cheated by the mold manufacturer. His product- 1250ml round food container are always of the wrong size. He has removed the molds for more than ten times, but it made no difference at all.
Mr. Xu hoped that Taili Plastics Machinery could give some advice to solve this problem. In fact, for the problem of slight deviation of size, the ideas of adjustment are generally as follows:
1. Modifying on the moving plate
Polishing and patch welding are easier to operate on the moving plate. Thus we usually choose to modify it on the moving plate. The slight adjustment of the size must be based on the principle of convenience and quickness, and the materials used in the mold test must be kept uniform. It is better to use brand new materials to avoid the size deviation caused by the recycled materials.
2. Measuring the thickness of mold with the molding tape
It is generally recommended to measure the thickness with the molding tape first. This kind of molding tape has a thickness mark. Generally, the thickness of one layer is about 0.3mm, so we can accurately estimate the thickness of the area which should be patch welded or polished.
3. Mold testing
In the process of mold testing, we must pay attention to the temperature of the mold. Because this kind of product requires high precision of size, due to the different thermal expansion factors, the size deviation may be caused under the condition of different temperature of mold. It must be tested under the same condition, so as to avoid to the greatest extent the occurrence of this deviation and improve the success rate of maintenance.
It is generally recommended that the mold can be removed after the repair welding is completed. After 12 hours, the mold can be assembled on to the machine and tested again. If the product meets the standard, then the size adjustment is successful.
