He used to believe the injection molding machines of different brands are the same, regardless of the big brand and the small brand. After working for about two years, the center part of the template will be sunken. If kept working for another period of time, the template and the pull rod will break down. This phenomenon was quite normal 10 years ago. But now such low-level mistake can’t happen about processing technology and material selection for most injection molding machines. We carefully checked the parameters and the situation Mr. Wang's injection molding machine and turned to be shocked at last.
In the plant, we found that the injection feedback pressure of the injection molding machine was 170-180bar, and the clamping force of the template was above 160 bar. When the injection molding machine was storing materials, the machine let out sad sound as it seemed to have predicted its tragic end. In my impression, this kind of injection molding parameter design could be called suicide-type parameter design. This was what caused the short service life of Mr Wang’s machine. Generally, for ordinary products, the injection pressure is generally required to be lower than 120bar and the mold locking pressure shall not exceed 120 bar. We asked Mr. Wang's adjusting technician how he set the parameters. He said that the thinnest part of the product wall thickness is only 0.75mm, and the mold was prone to eccentricity after a while of working. If the injection pressure and locking pressure were not set high, the product will be defective. On the basis of high injection pressure and mold locking pressure, melting temperature should be improved and the machine could barely keep working. With the newly-developed design of oil circuit and pressure control, the injection rate can be increased by more than 30%, and the cycle can be controlled at about 10 seconds.
