I got some time recently. Thus, I exchanged views with many employers on the recent market, as well as the views on manufacturing plastic products. One of the deepest feelings is that in the past, money was easy to earn, and demand was greater than supply. As long as we could produce, we would be able to sell them at a very good price. But now under the circumstance of the different market, each product is oversupply and the profits reduce. If you don't lower the price, you can't digest the products you've made; if you lower the price, you won’t gain much profits.
However, peers of same products can reduce the price to a great extent, which may be lower than the normal cost price. This time, I was very lucky to have a good chat with several toy industry manufacturers. Here I would like to share their experiences with you.
Toy industry has a long history and the price competition is extremely fierce. In order to get more profits, the unit capacity of the injection molding machine must be increased to the maximum. Look back to my career of over ten years, what I still remember is the fingertip gyroscope, which was called "crazy gyroscope" in previous years. At that time, almost all the people I knew around started the business of fingertip gyroscope. The container trucks were waiting for shipping, and even the humble bearings were sold for sky high prices. In this battle, how to improve the production capacity and output of the injection molding machine has become the top priority.
Some injection molding machine manufacturers have developed equipment which greatly increases the production capacity. For some products, the production capacity increases as high as 100%, which means the capacity of one machine is equal to the capacity of the past two machines. What an exaggeration of the data! Production capacity will be improved at the same time that energy consumption per unit product can be reduced. Thus, the profit margin of products is increased in every aspect. As shown in the figure below, the weight of the washbasin is about 145g, but its cycle time is only 9 seconds, compared with the cycle time of the peers about 15 seconds, which will do the manufactures a great favor.
