Bearings are the most common parts applied in mechanical equipment. They play the role as to support the rotation of mechanical parts and reduce the friction coefficient. In the injection molding machine, the most important bearing is the flat bearing (also called flat thrust bearing) located in the injection seat. Flat bearings need to bear large axial loads. Its quality plays a decisive role plays a decisive role in its main parameters such as injection accuracy, injection rate, and plasticizing ability. I previously used one of the largest domestic brand, which is known as the military grade, the original factory standard, and it is not the kind of "garbage" from other processing plants. Here is a point I can share with you that the accuracy level of the bearing (from ordinary level to precision level) is P0, P6, P5, P4, P2. Among them, P2 grade bearings are the most precise, and are generally used in aerospace scale. Many models of P2 grade bearings cannot be purchased in China. The more precise bearings are not necessarily the better. The higher the precision of the bearings is, the higher the requirements for the use environment is need. P5 grade is commonly used in injection molding machine manufacture. Our company used to one of the largest domestic brand. The inner and outer diameters of the bearings are often inspected to not meet the requirements. The inspectors scold their throats for the bad quality every day, and they are annoyed for a long time. So I told the purchaser that I needed P4 grade bearings of the same brand. I thought the precision level was risen and the number of qualified products should be greatly increased. However, our purchaser told me that this brand cannot provide large quantities of P4 bearings. Because P4 and P5 are actually from the same production line. The standard to distinguish them is actually the difference of inner and outer diameters inspected manually. In fact, the inner and outer diameter of bearings is only a small factor for bearing precision, not a decisive factor. The vibration and noise of rotation are the more important indicators to judge the quality of the bearings. What’s surprised me is that the largest brand ignore this.
My domestic friends told me that in fact, SKF has many domestic processing plant (SKF is internationally recognized as the largest bearing manufacturer, and has participated in the formulation of almost all the bearing standards). Many injection customers do not recognize this, thinking that the brand is the same and the quality is the same. However, what they got at a lower price doesn’t have a quality consistent with the brand. Now, I only use the originally imported SKF bearings (unopened, with customs import certification). For the same P5 grade bearings, the price is more than 30 times the largest domestic brand but the quality is realiable.
