1. Eliminating the Blur on the Surface
The domestic market of disposable plastic cutlery is not big while they’re more sold in the Europe, the United States and Japan. Since this product needs to be in direct contact with the mouth, it is important that no burrs should be appear on the surface of the product. Because of the large quantity and fast cycle, it is impossible to deburr each product individually, and on the other hand the effect of manual deburring is not good.
In order to solve the problem of product burr, there are two method which can be taken into consideration. On the one hand, special design of parting surface of product can be considered in the development of die to reduce the possibility of burr appearance. On the other hand, latent glue feeding (lower cost) or hot runner (slightly higher cost) can be considered. In the selection of injection molding machine, the injection speed should be increased as much as possible to ensure that the product can be molded at one time and avoid the process of holding pressure in the later stage.
2. Increasing Production Capacity and Reduce Costs
For disposable products, the cycle time and stability of products greatly affect the production capacity and cost, whose impact on profits can be as high as 40%. Generally, the cycle time of disposable knives, forks and spoons is about 20 seconds, i.e. about 3 molds per minute. We can increase the production capacity as much as possible. The cycle can be shortened to about 10 seconds, that is, 6 molds per minute, which can greatly reduce the cost and investment.
