Plastic lighter is a common products at low price. However, the requirements on good air tightness, wall thickness standards, resistance to falling down etc. are not low and the wall thickness of injection lighter shell changes greatly. Thus, it’s very important to select a suitable injection molding machine. The requirements on the adjusting technicians are also high.
The thickest part of the plastic lighter shell is at the stiffener, which is generally about 1.7mm-2mm; the thinnest part is generally the place where electronic components are placed, which is generally about 0.4mm. As we can see, there is a great difference in thickness. However, the lighter shell is loaded with inflammable and explosive materials, the requirements for sealing are very high. The thickest part is required to be with no shrinkage, and the perforation can’t appear on the thinnest part.
Mr. Tang told us that when producing the lighter shell, they always pay special attention to the injection molding process, especially the following points:
1. Keep the injected rate as a fixed number
2. Consider whether the speed should be slowed down or accelerated in the critical area
3. Prevent the flash, lack of material and other phenomena on the basis that product is fully molded
Therefore, the injection process is generally divided into three stages and should be adjusted for many times. The technicians with poor skills may cause high defection rate.
We told Tang that the injection process of our machine will be very easy to adjust. We can just set the first stage. At the first time to adjust, we suggest to shorten the injection time. If the products appear to deform and we can add some pressure and good product will be got. Mr Tang is very surprised to hear such adjusting method and kind of suspicious.
We directly prove to Mr. Tang by assembling the mold onto the injection molding machine. After several molds, Mr. Tang gets the satisfactory products and gives a lot of praises to us! At present, there have been more than 15 sets of Taili Plastic injection molding machines in Mr. Tang's factory.
